Pre-production is over!!

Last night was the official end of pre-production.  T’was an exhausting undertaking, but very well worth it.

Next stop: We hit the record button in mid-March.

 

Final Pre-Pro

Last night we completed our last pre-production session with song #13.

Our next step will be a fine tuning phase.  This consists of getting our transitions in and out of sections much smoother and playing to the emotional peaks and valleys of the songs.  We will also make the hard decision of deciding what 2 songs won’t make it to the album.

Recording of the bass and drums will be done in Mid-March, so we’re looking at hopefully finishing the album by late April / early May.

 

Day 5: pre-production

3 out of 4 Parsnips were battling some infectious disease. We all made it through alive and got through 3.2 songs.

We have 1 more song to work on before we go into the fine tuning phase. That phase will iron out any kinks and determine what songs make it to the album before recording.

Derek is kicking our butts, but the HUGE difference he has made is just amazing.

Our friend filmed the last session and will be at others to make a mini doc about the making of the album.

Day 4: pre-production

Much much easier or we’re just getting better at it.

Next week should be our last pre-pro before we narrow down the best songs to fine-tune.

Pre-pro was much harder this time, but we successfully worked out arrangements to 2 of the 4 songs on yesterday’s list.

First day of pre-production

Going in to our first day of pre-production, we were nervous little Parsnips.  After we left, we felt great and super excited by what we could accomplish with the guidance of Derek.

Fresh Start to the New Year

This Sunday we begin pre-production on our first full length album and we really couldn’t be more excited.

In the past we’ve done all of the recording / producing ourselves, and it proved to be a difficult task at times.  So this time, with the guidance of our manager, we are going into a studio and working with a producer.

We don’t know how we’ll sound when we’re finished, but the rumor is that we’re going to be musically and emotionally tested during this process.  Scary stuff!

Once we begin, we will keep everyone up to date with blogs, pics, whatever.

We want to thank you for supporting us throughout the years, and wish us luck for 2012 and beyond!

2011

2011 has been a good progressive year for us; the best in our 5 year history.

2012 is shaping up to be our biggest year yet. Early in 2012 we begin work on our first “real” album with a creative producer that will test our skills to the extreme.. We are so excited that January can’t come soon enough.

The whole process will be filmed for a mini making of documentary.

After the album is done, we will be hitting the road for some mini tours.

After that… Maybe a Lady Gaga duet album.

December 18th

We’ll be back at The Legendary Dobbs to celebrate their 1 year anniversary.  We’re kicking it acoustic in the upstairs lounge with Sheila Hershey on cello and vocals again.
